11/11A and 15/15B/15S Services from Sunday, August 18, 2024

Announced on August 9, 2024 via First Bus Aberdeen website that these changes are coming. The new timetables can be viewed via the companies related link at the bottom of this article. 

11/11A Services (Revised timetable will be in operation):
  • 11 Service, route will extend from Woodend to Countesswells via Stagecoach old service 4 route which has been withdrawn
  • 11 Service ,will not use Woodend terminus to and from Countesswells
  • Woodend terminus will only be used when terminating or starting there

Location: Skene Road being closed after Woodend

11 Service, heading to Countesswells from Queens Road (Hazlehead roundabout):

  • 3rd exit onto Kings Gate
  • Left onto Stronsay Drive
  • Left onto Langstracht and continue to the roundabout at Skene Road and resume normal route

11 Service, heading from Countesswells to Woodend from Skene Road:

  • 1st exit onto Langstracht
  • Right onto Stronsay Drive
  • Right onto Kings Gate and resume normal route. The nearest stops will be Queens Road (Hazledene Road).

Effective: 23/07/2024 - 20/09/2024

Location: Craigiebuckler Avenue, closed from 04:00 on Jul 23 until 17:00 on Sep 20

11A Service, heading to Craigiebuckler from Springfield Road via Queens Road.

11A Service, heading to Springhill from the bus stop on Queens Road via Queens Road, Springfield Road and resume normal route.


15/15B/15S Services & 19/19S Services (Revised timetable will be in operation):
  • Daytime service reduced frequency from every 30 minutes to every 40 minutes
  • 15/15B Services, will no longer serve Cults and Countesswells with service now terminating at Airyhall (Countesswells Close) Countesswells now served by 11 Service, via Queens Road
  • 15S Service, minor change to journey time

Location: Great Western Road will be closed from Hammerfield Avenue to South Anderson Drive

15S Service, heading to Hazlehead Academy from Cromwell Road via, Seafield Road and Springfield Road before resuming normal service.

15S Service, heading to Mannofield from Craigton Road via Springfield Road, Seafield Road and Cromwell Road.

19/19S Services, heading to Culter from Anderson Drive via Seafield Road, Springfield Road and North Deeside Road and resume normal route.

19/19S Services, heading to City Centre from Springfield Road, Seafield Road, Anderson Drive and Great Western Road. The nearest stops are Seafield Road and Springfield Road.

ALDI Store Planned for Hazlehead, Countesswells Road 

Aldi Stores Ltd are bringing forward a planning application to develop a new discount foodstore at Hazlehead, Countesswells Road, adjacent to the new Dandara housing development. Full details of the scheme can be viewed online at (click on link) www.aldiconsultation.co.uk/hazlehead

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions Aldi are holding an online question and answer session with the development team on: Friday 29th May between 4pm and 7pm. To attend the event or to find out more about the proposals visit the website www.aldiconsultation.co.uk/hazlehead which contains consultation boards with additional information about the development plans and associated timescales.

Aldi are preparing a planning application which will be submitted to Aberdeen City Council

Note that the Aldi private consultation is totally separate from the official Council consultation which will be arranged once the planning application is eventually lodged. It will be important to send comments, objections to the official process and not just Aldi's initial private consultation.
