Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named Order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 .

Order 01

The effect of the first order, which will operate from 2000 on 20 June until 1900 on 21 June, 2026, is to impose a Road Closure on Hazlehead Avenue at bus turning circle and car park. Access to bus turning circle for coaches connected to the event. Also in this order, which will operate from 0800 until 1700 on 21 June, 2026 , is to impose a Road Closure on Hazlehead Avenue, Aberdeen, Access/ egress only to recycle centre on Hazlehead Avenue via Queens Road. Access/ egress only for residents of Queens Grove via Queens Road. Emergency vehicles and vehicles associated with the SITA Recycling Centre will be exempt. An alternative route is available via Queens Road and Groats Road. There will also be a One Way System in place on Groats Road, from its junction with Hazlehead Academy drop off area to the junction of Unnamed Road and Hazlehead Avenue at the park gates/car park (south bound). Hazlehead  from its junction with park gates/car park to junction with Hazledene Road.

The bus and car park area on Hazelhead Avenue, will again close from 0500 on 26 June to 0100 on 28 June, 2026, for Granite City Festival.

The second order, which will operate from 08:00 on 17 June, 2026 until 18:00 on 1 July, 2026, will be to introduce a series of temporary waiting restrictions, as detailed in the schedule below, to ensure public safety and avert congestion during the Aberdeen Highland Games at Hazelhead Park/ Granite City Festival.

Again, for Granite City Festival from 0500 on 26 June to 0100 on 28 June, 2026

  • HAZLEHEAD AVENUE – both sides, from its junction with Queens Road to its junction with Hazlehead Policies Road
  • GROATS ROAD – both sides, from its junction with Queens Road to its junction with Hazlehead Ave
  • HAZLEHEAD POLICIES ROAD – both sides, from its junction with Hazlehead Avenue to its junction with Hazledene Road
  • UN-NAMED ROAD OF 50m from SOMEBODY CARES to HAZLEDENE ROAD – both sides, full length
  • HAZLEDENE ROAD – both sides, from its junction with Queens Road to a point 200m or thereby west of its junction with Countesswells Road.
  • BUS TURNING CIRCLE ROAD ADJACENT TO HAZLEHEAD PARK ENTRANCE – both sides, from its junction with Queens Road to its most westerly point.
  • BUS TURNING CIRCLE and parking area restricted to authorised event vehicles.
  • UN-NAMED ROAD, COUNTESSWELLS ROAD TO HAZLEDENE ROAD- both sides, from its junction of Hazledene Road to a point 225m west.
  • UN-NAMED ROAD, GROATS ROAD AND HAZLEHEAD AVENUE TO HAZLEDENE ROAD – both sides, from its junction with Groats Road and Hazlehead Avenue to its junction with Hazledene Road.
  • QUEENS ROAD – both sides, from its junction with Hazledene Road to its junction with Kingsgate.
